University of Washington, North Campus Housing

Location: Seattle, Washington
Team: Kieran Timberlake

The University of Washington’s north campus is defined by its robust tree canopy and views of the Cascade Mountains and Union Bay. These physical qualities and vistas are proposed as organizing elements for campus development that should be enhanced and preserved with the new residential hall projects.

The site plan creates strong connections within the community and to the surrounding areas. The building are organized to reinforce the drama of the topography, with circulation and activity occurring at common elevations that transverse the slope of the site.
